It’s like God answered a prayer.
At just 19 years old, Ana faced the massive challenge of homelessness. For a year, she navigated uncertainty, hardship, and the many invisible battles that come with not having a safe place to call home.
But her story didn’t end there.
In 2024, Ana moved into This is GrowTH housing project. From the beginning Ana embraced the chance to rebuild her life.
“She brought so much light into the house,” her housing worker shared. “Always kind, always helpful, and always willing to grow.”
During her time in the housing, Ana made the most of every opportunity. She completed the SPEAR programme, gaining vital employability skills and growing in confidence. Not long after, she secured a part time job.
She was also busy studying ESOL English and Maths, determined to strengthen her foundation for the future. Despite her busy schedule, Ana regularly attended GrowTH socials, building strong relationships with staff. From baking sessions with her housing worker, to attending the Women’s Space and joining in with lunches at the day centre, Ana was always a friendly face to have around.
After several months of dedication and consistent engagement, Ana moved into longer-term housing through Clearing House, a huge milestone in her journey toward independence.
Now, she dreams of becoming a social worker, a goal rooted in her desire to give back and support others going through difficult times, just as she was supported.
Ana’s story is one of quiet strength, determination, and the power of community.
We are incredibly proud of everything she’s achieved and even more excited for the future she’s building.
